Can you switch pensions from one state to another?

I currently work in NY and I have a pension with my current position, I just accepted a position in NJ, my future company offers a pension as well, I was just wondering if I will be able to transfer the money to the new pension… I havent spoken to HR yet… I wanted to hear from you guys first.
